OVERVIEW:

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Assist classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate activities for students by implementing concrete learning activities that meet the varied developmental needs to students with and without special needs.
• Assist classroom teacher in getting students into and out of the buildings and classrooms. This may include lifting and carrying of students.
• Assist teacher during activities such as field trips, and emergency drills.
• Assist teacher with classroom routines such as a snack, washing dishes, clean-up, bathroom and other similar activities. This may include feeding, changing and toileting children.
• Assist teacher in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children and perform such other tasks and assume responsibilities as assigned by the building principal.
• For HEALTH positions, only: position will include feeding, changing diapers and toileting children.
